There's not much you can do. You can make sure your spark plugs are good, replace your air filter, and keep the tires at a good pressure. Other than that, the 4.7 just sucks gas.
For the 2008 model year, the 4.7 actually got WORSE gas mileage than the Hemi engine (12/17 v. 13/18), probably due in large part to the MDS system in the Hemi. For 2009, both engines were equally bad at 13/18.
The only thing you can really do to save gas on these trucks is drive less or trade them in!
