Default sloppy steering?

Hello,

My wife and I have a 2007 Aspen 4x2 and we love the truck but the steering is horrible and borderline dangerous! If your driving on the highway and even bump the wheel its scarey. Is this common for the aspen and has anyone else ever heard of this problem?

Have you checked to see if your vehicle is updated on any recalls. There was a steering knuckle recall on about 5000 Aspens.

You may also access the self-service recall site on the internet to check on your vehicle's involvement in any future recalls that are published. Simply go to your brand website Owners page: http://www.Chrysler.com/en/owners and enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) where appropriate.

It sounds like you're describing touchy steering, which is the opposite of sloppy. Can you be more specific?

Why would you bump the wheel while you're driving on the highway? If that causes it to move, then I would expect steering to happen unless there's play in the wheel (sloppy).

first of all thank you for your replies. As far as describing my problem better I would describe it as sensitive steering not sloppy. If I'm on the freeway and just bump the wheel on accident because I'm reaching for the radio its just very responsive. Thats the best way I can describe it but I have had a ton of cars in my life and have had nothing even close to this.
