$17,000 for your car is a pretty fair dealer offer. You should be able to get $2500 or so more as a private sale.

$23,000 is a little high for the loaded 2008 UNLESS it is in extremely good condition and one owner personal use. If its a rental or multiple owners in "good" condition, it should sell closer to $20K.

Personally, I would consider your car + $1000 -$1500 to be a fair deal assuming equal condition and miles.
