Default Transmission problem Ugggh!

Well, unfortunately after only 2300 miles the Aspen is in the shop with a messed up transmission. We bought an 09 Dealer Demo Aspen with about 2100 miles on it and three weeks later its in the shop. They have had it now for 5 going on 6 days and they say they will need it for another 2-3 days! We really like the Aspen so I hope this is the one and only problem we have with it for a very long time. The dealer did give us a Commander to drive around but it is not an Aspen!

Anyone else have any problems with the transmission?

Brad

Nope, I would see it as a isolated problem. What exactly are they doing with your Aspen?

It has certainly gone through my mind that they new there was an issue but didn't tell me about it, but I have no proof that is the case. What really chaps my hide is I took it to Huntington Beach Chrysler after the first check engine light came on and they said "don't worry about it, if the light comes back on just bring it back in". I told the Long Beach Chrysler mechanic that and he said if they had taken the time to diognose the problem my transmission wouldn't be sitting in pieces on his bench. I guess the 4th to 5th gear (overdrive) clutch plates were stripped and pieces of metal were all over the place inside the tranny. It is going to be a total of two weeks before I get the Aspen back.

The other minor issue we were having is the key fobs were not working with the seat memory. I guess you can program the seat memory positions to each individual key. They have to replace some module which is on back order.

I'm sure (hope) that it will be trouble free for a long time after this.
