Default question for some owners

i know these are some whacky questions, but i'm curious.... i don't own a crossfire(yet) but i may if i find the right deal.

what's size are the front brakes?

what's the smallest wheel that will fit on it?

what size is the spare tire?

call me sick, but i'd like to see a Hemi shoehorned into one...[sm=badbadbad.gif]

I currently own a 2004 Chrysler crossfire. You can see the pic in my welcome ad. I really love the car.

what's size are the front brakes? 11.8 inch vented front disks and 10.0 inch solid rear brakes ..... 70-0 mph comes in 161 feet.

what's the smallest wheel that will fit on it? the smalles wheel on it is 18 inches

what size is the spare tire? there is no spare tire. the car comes with an air compressor and some fix flat stuff so that you can get it to a tire shop. I couldn't see a 18 or 19 inch donut anyhow lol.

call me sick, but i'd like to see a Hemi shoehorned into one ....... actually startech.com does have a V8 that you could put in the car. Although I'd suggest the supercharged V6 over that.

thanks for the reply.

i agree with you on the startech, bang for the buck i'd rather have the SRT anyday. either way i'm not buying anytime soon, i'll wait for the right used one at the right price.... someday when i can afford it.

judging by sizes alone, the front brakes should allow it to run as small as a 16" wheel, i doubt a 15" will fit, but it may. the rear will fit a 15 maybe a 14. reducing rotational inertia is one way to make the car faster in a straight line, i.e. 1/4 mile.

no spare tire! so, if you actually shred a tire (beyond what fix-a-flat can do), you get to tow it to a shop... isn't that 'special'! that's messed up, IMO.

I have seen a wrecked one on autotrader.com for a cool 14k thats the lowest I have seen lol. Most used ones ... even with 25k miles they sell in the mid 20's range.

As for the smaller tires I would seriously hate to see a Crossfire driving around on 15' wheels lol. Could be true that you will gain acceleration but if thats so you will loose top end. My quarter mile comes in the low 14's and so far my top speed (the fastes I've had it on the autobaun) is 160 mph.

As for the no spare issue lol. You would have to run over something fierce for the tire sealant not to work right on these tires. Also if the air pressure starts to go down for some reason the Idiot light will come on.

Because Chrysler did such a bad job marketing the Crossfire you can still find some new 2004's around if you look. I just bought a brand new 2004 for just under 23K with full warranty. That price was just shy of 13K under the sticker price. The dealer was Fitzpatricks in Ansonia CT and they still had three more 04's. Good Luck! It's a beautiful car. Everywhere I take it people ask me what it is. Fast too!
