Default 04 2wd Pacifica Major Blower motor/resistor issues

My problems started 2 years ago. My wife's 04 Pacifica's air stopped working. Quick web search said replace the blower motor resistor behind the glove box. $112.00 later her air works great. A year later it goes out again. Thank God for lifetime Warranties! Replaced and good to go. 3 months later it goes out again. Since then We have replaced it three more times. Now the air is stuck on high whether the controls are on or not. I was told by a Mechanic that it sounds to him like the actual Blower motor is going out. Possibly the bearings are wearing out and making the motor draw more current which is burning out the Resistors. The air does seem a little weak. Has anyone heard of anything like this and could the motor actually be burning up the resistors?

Wink

My daughter's 01 Caravan burnt a resister due to a plugged cabin air filter. It had never been changed until the resister failed at 90k miles.

We change her's every other oil change. I found out about the filter when she burnt up the first resistor.

I have seen bad blower motors take out resisters on Ford Rangers at work.

I had the same problem. The blower motor is DONE. You will be able to get at it from under the glove box. 1 screw will require to take out the glove box but other than that, pretty straight foward.
