I am trying to get this error code fixed so I can get my car to the smog check, I have read some forums or websites where this issue was addressed however I am still lost
I know basic electricity principles, know how to use a voltmeter, so basically my goal is to fix it myself and avoid the silly $100 diagnostic only from Chrysler dealer.
I am posting this thread if you guys had any idea where I could start from to fix it.

Here is the description of the P0499 (thank you chryslerforum ):
"nvld canister vent solenoid circuit high"

So I know it has something to do with the solenoid from the starter. Besides that I still figuring out, if any of you had that problem before I would really appreciate your feedback.

mmm no your way off its nothing to do with the starter the NVLD is for the evaporation emission system. NVLD Natural Vapor Leak Detection. Possible connector disconnected or the NVLD switch is faulty dealer only part.

 

Hello Thanks for your feedback, I did change the canister under the hood, the little black part with two hoses and one electric connection, it still did the error code P0499. For the NVLD system under the driver side, I did remove the parts and reinstalled to see if there was any damaged parts or disconnected cables, but everything seemed fine and the error code still remains, I have been searching like a maniac for a solution to this problem online and I was just wondering, because I am trying to locate this problem,
Since this code mentions default circuit high, is this P0499 an electrical problem only ? which means it is not the nvld / canister parts malfunctioning but only the electrical connection of it? or is it due to part malfunctions that needs to be replaced ?

For example this link which is regarding a slightly different code, the guy is mentioning the P0499 being linked to electrical/ground problems?

Hello, I still have the P0499 code on, I replace the canister under the hood on the passenger side, the nvld valve, the charcoal box. Used OBDII scan tool to remove however it still remains, I don't know what else to do to remove it, I'm also thinking to replace the PCM.


Any lead ?
