Exclamation 05 Pacifica in limp mode after timing belt change??

Changed out the water pump, timing belt and tensioner pulley on my 05 Pacifica. Now since everything has been reassembled the car starts great and runs quiet BUT now it won't rev past 2500 rpm. It's acting like it's in "limp" mode or something. It's showing a CEL but I'm kind of afraid to drive it to a shop to have it checked. Keep in mind it runs, shifts and accelerates fine as long as you keep it under 2500 rpm. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Car ran perfect before the parts change.

It could be that the timing belt is off a tooth or two. It would still run but the PCM would see that the timing is off and cause the vehicle to go into limp mode so as not to damage the motor. This is just a thought, the code should be read to see what it indicates. These vehicles will not rev much over 2000 rpm when in park too. Could be that a sensor was compromised. Not good to guess. The codes should be read before you do anything to it.

TN_vodad13, how did you set shaft timing? Try to rotate shafts to meet factory marks or use white-out to mark orig belt/sprockets and transfer marks to new belt?

Have 304,000 miles on my Pac, have R&R timing belt 4 times, always use the white-out method. And of course hold my breath till I see the silly thing running properly at the end of the exercise.

OOPS! - THIS IS A DEAD THREAD. THE OP POSTED IN 2013!!!

Before closing everything up, did you hand crank the engine a couple revolutions to see if the timing marks stayed lined up?
Some engines won't stay lined up.
You have to make allowance for the shift on one cam sprocket to get everything to line up.
