05 Pacifica oil leak?
I've noticed a problem with my oil. I change it, check randomly through the next week it looks good then check it week later and its low. The past 2 times I've changed the oil I've had to add 2 quarts of oil, before the next oil change. There are no apparent leaks nor does it seem like its burning oil. Anybody else having this problem

I also have had that problem, but not as bad as you.... Which reminds me i need to check my oil! The oil has to be going some where.....have you had anyone look under the car yet?Could be a gasket or oil filter. Have you noticed black smoke coming out the tail pipe? Sounds to me like you are losing it some where....oil doesnt disapear that quickly.......Its normal to have maybe 1/4 to 1/2 quart gone by the next oil change.......I do all my oil changes on all my cars (pacifica, mustang and full size blazer)......so i do know a little but, im no machanic.......my husband is.....lol Could be something thats hidden, that you dont see burning in the engine too.......let me know!

They have notorious valve seal leaks. So the oil leaks into either the exhaust valve or the intake valve. Either way it's a no good. What brand filters are you using. Cheap oil filters have imperfections on the gasket so they won't seal right. I recomend something like Purolator with an extra thick soft synthetic prelubed gasket. Are you using synthetic oil or standard.5W-20,5W-30 or 10w-30? Try using 10W-30 conventional oil to see if that slows down the oil consumption.

i just talked to my engine guys and they said thay have not seen a valve stem guide issue
but have seen the oil get burnt up by the lower end.
a 1/4 to 1/2 of oil loss is with in chrysler spec for loss.
i think its like 900 miles per quart that chrysler will alow for burn off.

I have a 2001 Intrepid with the 3.2L V-6 and it uses approximately 1 qt. between oil changes. When it was newer I blamed it on the pososity of the block, but honestly I don't know what to blame it on now. My coolant is perfect, my exhaust emissions are good. I use Penzoil conventional 10W-30 with a Fram filter
