Default 2004 Pacifica

We're getting a 2004 Pacifica, but the computer doesn't work (MPGs, average, time runnin and so on).

The dealer says that it probably wasn't equipped with one originally, but I doubt it. I can't find definite answers, does anybody know about that?

Thanks! I actually just found it here: http://www.automotive.com/2004/12/ch.../interior.html, so no more doubts now.

That is what options were available for the model they tested.

Go to the dealer and politely ask for a "VIP SUMMARY REPORT". Have your Vin number available.....

Depending on what state you live in, there is a "Right To privacy" law which will prohibit them from giving it to you, but not from letting you view it.

Thanks again! Apparently, there weren't different models in that year, or so I'm told. So the model they tested should be the same as the one we're buying.

The dealer is a used car dealer, I don't know if he has specific knowledge or can provide that report.

Nonsense.......The original owner sat down at a dealership and filled out a form with all the toys he wanted, or he picked out one from the lot. Either way, The EVIC system youre referring to ..MAY or MAY NOT be in the vehicle.

Your local CHRYSLER dealership can help you with the VIP sheet.

I followed your advice, but the local Chrysler dealership ouldn't help. They ran the VIN number, but they couldn't get any useful info about the presence of the EVIC, or didn't want to, whatever.

We bought it anyway (not a deal breaker) and rely on the dealer's honesty to fix the computer if it was installed originally. I'll see from there.

Thank you very much for your help!
