Default 2006 Pacifica brake interlock issue

Recently the shift interlock lever(little pink lever w/spring) failed and I replaced it with the metal replacement part. Everything worked as it should for 24 hours. The next day I went to shift it into drive and it wont shift out of park. The newly installed interlock lever is still entact and I am able to shift it using the bypass(pink) button/switch on the back of the shift assembly. I am not getting the standard "click" when I step on the brake pedal before shifting. It sounds like it might be the BTSI cable/solenoid, has anyone else had this issue?
