I have a very low mileage 2017. Just don't drive much anymore at my age.
Time to replace tires is coming up and the van is now 7 years old. I read that the TPS batteries average wearing out at 7 years.
Thinking about the tire replacement I thought replacing the TPS devices in each rim would be a good idea as the new set of tires will go way beyond the life of the current batteries.
Trying to save a little of my retirement money and I thought perhaps I would just keep the TPS devices I have but I wondered what will happen when the batteries go dead.
I assume first of all that the pressure in the tire that the battery goes dead will no longer be displayed on the gauge cluster.
But what else if anything happens? Do I get any kind of warning light I cannot get rid of?
Do I get messages telling me of a problem?
If all I lose is the pressure indication I can live with that. I have a good compressor and adjust the tire pressures as needed.
