Considering 08 Pacifica Thoughts?
I am in search for a new car and there are some 08 Pacificas still on the lot near me and am getting a good price for them. I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts were for these cars. What problems have you had for them if any, and what have you been told in regards to warranties for your recent purchases?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The only Ford I'm considering is the Taurus X and it's not even close to the options I can get with the Pacifica

I like my 07, the ride is good, it's comfortable and I get 25+mpg on the highway. If you buy an '08 new off the lot you get the lifetime powertrain warranty backed by Chrysler & the US government. Can't beat that with a stick.

I've got an 05 Pacifica. Regarding warranty concerns, they are not really a concern. As previous post said--you are covered. Only question may be, once the dealers shutdown by Chrysler are gone will the nearest dealer still standing be convenient to you. I'm in NJ and even with some dealers closing, proximity of dealers left is not an issue.
I've got 36k on my AWD Pacifica. Only problems so far have been an ABS sensor going bad twice. Covered under warranty both times.
I use my Pacifica to tow my Miata to the track. Tows very well and also has great storage behind the 2nd row seat(I don't fold the seats down). Fit's 4 15" spare tires and lot's of misc. tools and stuff I need with me. With all my track gear it still fits 5 adults very comfortably, mine does not have the 3rd row seat.
Only change I'd make to it is replace shocks and springs with something a bit stiffer. I think the ride is too soft. I had looked at the edge, but not large enough, not much storage with seats in the up position.
If you like the vehicle and the you're happy with the deal, I'd go for it.

JMO, if you like to work on your car, or have work DONE to your car, the Pacifica is the car to buy. I've never had such a pain in the backside. It would be a great car if the Daimler boys would've put the Mercedes drive train in it, and not just their design recommendations...
P.S. You can always get a bad car but this particular car has unique problems that, so far, have been a real challenge to get Chrysler to own up on. This site is full of Pacifica failure components such as motor mounts, front suspension, transmission, and engine. Sure, there are good Pacificas but they don't issue TSB's for no reason. I'm not ready to give up on mine yet but I would have definitely bought something else, knowing what I know now.
