Thanks so much

You have to press the headset button on the remote, in case you have not done this. Also.. you have to be in the back seat not the fronts. I know this sounds strange but one time I was testing them, did not have the remote in hand and wanted to control the radio and they did not work. Mine are the Infrared units so they needed a line of site which is from the screen to the back seats.

I believe mrfixit is right, I noticed that if you turned your head too much with the headsets on, they would cut out also. You need to be pretty much looking at the screen.

My headphones work even if i'm outside the car a little ways. To use headphones you need to power the dvd with the remote. The headphone buttons on the remote just changes between two different wireless channels, in case of interferrence. In short, the headphones are linked to remote power.

I believe rrings has the 900 mhz model since he can hear outside the car. TheIR system does not have an a/b channel. His system probably has the "scan" button on the headphones. The IR system does not have a scan button on the headphones. Maxenna, we need more info of what type of system you have.
