Engine won't start
I bought a new 2021 Pacifica Pinnacle Hybrid in January 2021. Until now we have used it in battery mode the majority of the time as most of our trips were local. This last week we started a long road trip and used gas for the first time. Because we have not had an opportunity to plug it in and charge the battery we have operated in gas mode, with the exception on long trips it switched back and forth between the battery and engine but never exceeds more than 1% battery. Twice now when I have tried to start the car the start button would show it is in "Run" and the NAV system is on, however the car will not start. The message in the console in front of the steering wheel says "Put in P, foot on brake and press start. When I do that it turns everything off. Doing it again turns the NAV on and the start button says "Run" but it still will not start or move when selecting D or P on the shift selector. I've turned the system completely off, opened and closed the drivers door to turn everything off and still can't get it to start. This is with a full tank of gas and the engine will not get past the electronic start lock. I think it is something to do with the battery being less than 1% but it should start off the engine battery. I've had no opportunity to charge the hybrid battery. Anyone else having this problem? I called the dealer but they think I'm operating it incorrectly. I think it's a low battery software issue.
You are still under warranty. Don't waste time asking people here to guess what is wrong with your car. Take it to the dealer and SHOW him exactly what it is doing. If he still thinks you are operating it incorrectly have him SHOW you what exactly you are doing wrong and what should be done.
