Angry Engine won't start

I bought a new 2021 Pacifica Pinnacle Hybrid in January 2021. Until now we have used it in battery mode the majority of the time as most of our trips were local. This last week we started a long road trip and used gas for the first time. Because we have not had an opportunity to plug it in and charge the battery we have operated in gas mode, with the exception on long trips it switched back and forth between the battery and engine but never exceeds more than 1% battery. Twice now when I have tried to start the car the start button would show it is in "Run" and the NAV system is on, however the car will not start. The message in the console in front of the steering wheel says "Put in P, foot on brake and press start. When I do that it turns everything off. Doing it again turns the NAV on and the start button says "Run" but it still will not start or move when selecting D or P on the shift selector. I've turned the system completely off, opened and closed the drivers door to turn everything off and still can't get it to start. This is with a full tank of gas and the engine will not get past the electronic start lock. I think it is something to do with the battery being less than 1% but it should start off the engine battery. I've had no opportunity to charge the hybrid battery. Anyone else having this problem? I called the dealer but they think I'm operating it incorrectly. I think it's a low battery software issue.

You are still under warranty. Don't waste time asking people here to guess what is wrong with your car. Take it to the dealer and SHOW him exactly what it is doing. If he still thinks you are operating it incorrectly have him SHOW you what exactly you are doing wrong and what should be done.

I experienced the exact same problem yesterday. Took my first out-of-state trip with the family in our new van. Had no way to charge my Chrysler Hybrid 2021 Pacifica for several days, so battery was 1% but had a full tank of gas. Yesterday, started the van, went to pull out of driveway (was parked on a slight incline, so had to disengage the parking brake first), the van went down the driveway then stalled on the street, blocking both sides of the road because the steering wheel locked up/won't turn, I could not get it to turn. Van showed "run" on the start/stop button but won't shift in any gear. The entertainment system, navigation, radio, etc. were on and working. The dashboard showed "check engine light on" and a red dot was ON for a break. The dash showed "Auto Park Engaged Shift to P then Shift to Gear". I followed these instructions, but the van still did not do anything. Van was in Park, tried to shut off the engine, but it won't shift out of "Run" mode. Also, noticed that AC did not seem to be working, the van was blowing warm air despite MAX AC being on. The van is only 3 months old and had 2238 miles when this happened. Called Chrysler, they sent a tow truck, which took about 2 hours to arrive. After about 30 mins of reporting it to Chrysler, with van still in Run mode, I pushed the start/stop button again several times and it finally shut off. I then started it again and was able to put it in reverse and get it back into the driveway. Tow truck then towed the van to the dealer, put a small scratch in my bumper too =(. The dealer said they could not replicate the issue but was able to pull codes related to RRT 21-062. The dealer then updated the software to address the RRT 21-062 and RRT 21-063 and charged the van and told me to keep it charged. My issue certainly sounds very similar to yours, so maybe these codes will help. At the same time, Chrysler needs to look into this, as people are not always in a position to charge the vehicle. If it can't go on extended trips without being charged then it's a major problem!

I know it's been a while but did you ever get an answer on what the problem was? We just purchased a used pacifica hybrid that has an identical issue.
