Default Exhaust leak... EGR expansion plug

My fiance noticed a funny noise this morning, and while coming back from an hour long trip the Pacifica randomly started to sound like a tank. Clearly an exhaust leak, which I believe is coming from the EGR valve. Car has 128k on it with no warranty, and I assume no recall on the issue.

I've read about replacing the plug and using a screw to secure it somehow. Can this be done with the EGR valve still on the car? I've read it's insanely hard to remove and the bolts tend to strip. Any insight?

Is this the plug in question?

What type of plug should I look for to replace it? I assume it's a 7/8 plug, but there are several kinds of expansion plugs....

My hope is that I can remove the battery and battery tray and gain enough access to reach the two bolts for removal.

According to your VIN, you have extended warranty on your EGR for 100,000 miles

So far so good. I left the EGR Valve on the car and went to O'reilly and ended up getting a freeze plug (not expansion). I filled the hole with jb weld, and coated the edge of the plug with jb weld and wedged it in as far as I could with my hand. Coated the outside and edges with jb weld as well. Seems to be holding.

Unfortunately, we have 128k on the car. Thank you for taking the time to look though.
