Twice I have forgotten to put the gas cap back on. Both times my MPG went to above 25 mpg. The first time I thought I just miscalculated the mpg. Yesterday I drove 190 miles and got 25.4 mpg, which was 7.4 gallons! I thought with the gas cap off the check engine light was going to come on. What give here why did mpg go from 22 to 25.4? It sure is a puzzle to me, anyone else have this happen.
