Default HELP disk player no sound.

Hi All, let me start off by saying I know nothing about the Pacifica other than two friends of mine swear by them.
I'm trying to help out the wife of a good friend of mine who is currently serving all of us in Afganistan. So please bear with me.
From what his wife has told me and from what I see happening the disks in the lower 6 disk player cycle but no sound comes out of the speakers; the disks eject and feed in and cycle like they should but there's no sound from the speakers. There's no error message displayed.
The single disk that's in the upper part of the radio plays fine, so I don't think the problem is in the head.
Now, something I do know about - in my Corvette when the external factory installed 12 disk player stops working properly the radio has to be rebooted. You re-boot the radio by removing the radio fuse.Pull thr fuse, wait 20 seconds, put the fuse back and the disk player starts working like its supposed to.
What I'm hopeing is that there's a similar secret fix for the Pacifica.
Is there one?
I'd appreciate any help I can get. If there's no good news remember what I said just in case you buy a Corvette with a 12 disk player.
Thanks, Carol.
