Default newbie with questions

hey yall, I"m new here and we just bought the wife an 04 pacifica and I had a few questions about rpm's and fuel milage, first : what is a normal rpm range at 70 mph? ours runs 2500 rpm I think that's a little high but I don't know. second: what is the average mpg ours is 15.5mpg, I should say that this car had 17,000 on it when we bought it last month and it's AWD with the 3.5l . I guess my biggest concern is the rpms, I've got a 79 broncowith a 429 running on 35's with a c-6 3 speed tranny that does 2500 at 70, I expect thatto rev high at 70 but not the pacifica.
thanks for any info
mike

Mike,
Just a thought for you. Look at the redline of the Pacifica engine 3.5 vs. the redline on your 429. At 2500 RPM, the Pacifica is't even breathing hard.
The '04 only has the 4 spd. I have not compared the '07-6 spd. RPMs against my '04 AWD, but wouldn't be surprised if they were a little lower than 2500. Anyone tell us what an '07-6 Speed is turning at the same speed (70 MPH)?

Well, all wheel drive, 4 spd trans. at 70mph shes looking for another gear. AAAAHHH hince the 6spd trans. Chrysler is catching up with everyone else on transmissions! Brother, racedCJ jeeps in my younger days.Depending on rear end gear ratios and engine torque along with the right trans, trnsfer case,WOOO,STOP!!!!!! How can you compare your bronco to a pacfica? I amsorry better leave this one alone!!!!Good luck .Take Care.

I wasn't actually comparing the two, just giving a point of referenceand thanks for all the info. I would, on the other hand like to have the 6 speed from 07 in our 04. But now that I have the gas milage figured out, the rpm's are not that big of a deal.
