Default "Old" leak found

While working on the thread Int. Leak we found a very old one. In the pic of the passenger side inside the 2" square hole was about 1/2" of trapped very rusty water with no way to get out. The passenger side lower door hinge bolts can be seen thru the hole. Only think we can see is that the water may have traveled down inside the A pillar. The foam seal behind the wheel well liner seems in place as well as the flexible wiring cover to the door mirror. Anyone have a better idea how this happened ? Thanks. B2

Its still leaking rain water inside while parked. Just made a posting to the "Interior water leak thread" but that work didn't affect the A Pillar water problem at all. We had the wheel well liner removed and looked and found nothing to cause the problem and also put caulking around the door hinge and the flexible tube the mirror wiring goes thru the A pillar. Thinking now that maybe the water comes down behind the side of the windshield trim pieces. Many others may not even know they have water in there since everything is normally covered up with. Any ideas ? B2
