On a recent stop at an intersection i noticed steam from the radiator area.
At nearby shopping center i opened the hood and to my surprise the top radiator hose was completely off.
Now What? I had no tools with me and we were scheduled for a get together with friends.
Wal-mart was not to far away and i purchased some tools.
Pushed the clamp back and inserted the hose back, filled with water and off we went. Had to refill at friends place again and then it was OK.
But how come? so ended up changing the engine mounts front and rear.
Now the front mount was hanging on by a 2" thread of neoprene on top and the rest flipped up like a lid. This caused the engine to rock back and pull on this rad hose. We have a hilly area and this was the cause!!
Now if you need info on replacing these mounts let me know. My son has a car hoist and it took us 5 hrs. But remember this is not an easy job.
But worth the effort for a good saving
