Default Shift interlock

The electrical interlock on my gear shift has quit and I have to use the pink tab to get out of park. Does anyone know where the lock gets its signal? I am assuming from the brake pedal somewhere but I do not see a switch anywhere near the pedal. When I place my foot on the brake I no longer hear the lock release. Or does anyone know how to bypass the lock?

Thanks
