Default Trailer hitch

I'm looking to put on a trailer hitch on my 2006 Pacifica. I won't be hauling anything, just using a cargo carrier. I've found websites that say they have hitches that fit the vehicle, but the parts look different. Some hitch's look mostly horizontal and some look like they have a 'U' shape. Has anybody installed a hitch and if so, do you know the brand and model? The closest I've came is a Reese hitch, but it has two different model numbers.

My local dealership is not helpful. They think the part was discontinued because the exhaust has to be lowered to install the hitch. I even suggested a luggage rack to the dealer and he couldn't help with that either. I'm just looking for anything that will give me some extra space while traveling on vacation.

Thanks in advance....

I've went to the U-Haul site and it seems to be my best bet.

I went to uhaul.com. Then click on 'what hitch do I need'. Put in your info and two choices comes up. I went with the cheaper one because I'll only have a cargo carrier. On the same page as 'what hitch do I need' there is 'find a hitch install location' link. They had to order it and said it will probably take 5 days. $30 installation.

I just ordered one from etrailer.com along with the wiring harness. It's definitely the u-shaped variety http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitc...eid=2006301548

It just arrived yesterday and if I get time this weekend I'm going to attempt the install. Never done it before so we'll see how it goes.

I did this same exact install and everything went smooth. You shouldn't have an issue.
