Default 07 Cruiser - Coolant temperature sensor pigtail bad ? Help!

Hi all,

I have an 07 PT Cruiser that started giving me issues overheating while idling for too long. Went thru a list of possible culprits and determined the fan wasn't kicking on as it should. Thought it might be fan or fan relays. Upon installing the new fan, I realized what the culprit probably was: a burnt out connector part, what I believe is the coolant temperature sensor pigtail? Got a photo of it attached.

unfortunately it seems the information on this part is relatively scant. None of the half-dozen or so videos I watched diagnosing fan and overheating issues even mentioned it. I see very little in the ways of tutorials how to change it. Would anybody be able to steer me in the right direction as to how this part should be changed? Thank you in advance.

"None of the half-dozen or so videos I watched diagnosing fan and overheating issues even mentioned it." This is a wiring problem, not a cooling problem. Try looking up information about how to repair/replace connectors.
