I have a 2001 PT in need of an engine.170K, 2 timing belt replacements, oil changed @3K since new and all other recommended service. 2 cylinders w/no compression, tweaked valves visible w/boroscope, detonation sound when accelerating. Does anyone have experience w/used, reman. or other?

Have you thought about just replacing the head or taking the head to a machine shop for repair? Any time I pull one apart I have the head checked to make sure all is well.
