Question Here's an odd one!!!

Hello all, new member here!! I am working on an '05 Limited Turbo for a friend and I removed the valve cover to replace the spark plug seals (oil in the spark plug holes). When I turned it over, there was a spring stuck in one of the drain holes and I have absolutely no idea where it could have come from. Any ideas?? I have had many vale covers off before and I have never come across this. It definitely doesn't belong there!!
