Default Pt Cruiser Outer Tie Rod Help

So I took the old outer tie rod off and counted the threads (37 turns), went to put the new one on and get about 10 turns in and it’s super tight, I cleaned the threads very good so I put the old one back on for now. Anyone know the thread count? Or what’s wrong?

With the old one in place, carefully measure the distance from the center of the ball to where the threads disappear into the tie rod. Then measure the same distance on the new end. Remove the old end again and compare the amount of thread from the measuring mark to the far end of the threads. Compare that distance to what would be on the new end. If they are not close, then take the part back and make sure they give you the right one at the parts store. There is no "correct" number of turns since that depends on the wheel alignment. Make sure you are counting turns consistently and nor counting half-turns sometimes and full turns at other times.
