Default Inner Tie Rod Blue Spacer?????

Hi guys....
I have a 2000 Chrysler Town and Country. I replaced the inner and outer tie rods. I noticed after I finished one side 1/2 of the remainder of a blue plastic spacer that attached to the end of the inner tie rod where it attaches to the rack. Not sure of its purpose. Some repair videos show this spacer and some don't. One thread said the spacer is not needed. I have tried many web sites and Advanced Auto, Auto Zone and O'Reilly's Auto and no one knows what this is. The instructions Mood included in the new inner tie rod mention the spacer but nothing more. Do I need this blue spacer? Car has 155 grand and works well. Thanks.

Seen it on one picture somewhere. Fit it if faces don't meet, that's tie rod and steering shaft. But check tracking afterwards.
