Default '02 Grand Voyager immobilizer problem

Hi,

My 2002 Grand Voyager will not start.
It was OK two days ago but yesterday we had some low temperatures (-11 deg C) in the UK and this morning there appears to be a problem with the immobilizer.

When I put the key in the ignition and turn it to the ON position all of the dash lights work OK, but the multifunction indicator light flashes a few times and the indicator/turn signal light flash twice.
The engine will not start - I get a continuous clicking sound and all of the dash lights flash.

I've tried both keys with the same result.

Also sometimes whein I turn the key the A/C display comes on, other times not. If the A/C display is on there is no time display on the radio, if I turn the radio on the A/C display disappears.

I've tried disconnecting the battery but no change.
My obd2 code scanner cannot retrieve any codes - it indicates a communication error.

I've tried getting an error code from the odometer but nothing shows.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks.
John

I had exactly the sam problem this morning. -15 deg C in Sweden. Very week starter engine and then no starter engine at all. Only a continuous clicking sound (ca 3-4 clicks per second). I tried to jump start the engine with cables from my other car. No response, just that annoying clicking.
I have now removed the battery at recharge it indoor (it is very cold now outside...).
Let's hope it will work.
Any other ideas?

I put the battery back and had no problems to start.
Maybe I need a new fresh battery to avoid this problem.
