My 2005 town and country has started to run rough and stall right after I fill up the tank. It has happened the last 3 times, and I tried another filling station on the third time. Any ideas, anything I can check? No other drivability complaints or check engine light, and the engine is a 3.8 long version van if that makes any difference. thank you

 

This problem started for our 2006 t&c touring minivan also (about 65k miles). It happens after I refuel. Usually it will sputter and stall a little but not completely cut out - but it has done so at least twice one being earlier today where my van just completely lost all power and stopped. The oil light did come on too but after I restarted it went off. The other time it completely stalled out it had come on too. It's going back to the dealership tomorrow as I have complained of this problem before and was told they couldn't find anything. No code shows up on the dashboard. They are also where I get my van's oil changed at/serviced and it's only been 1200 miles since then.

I read somewhere on the internet (so who knows) - it could have something to do with the EVAP or that the problem is the vapor/liquid separator valve. I don't know but hopefully they will figure it out tomorrow. Or it could be something else.

How does a customer go about reporting this type of problem to Chrysler or when you take your vehicle in does that automatically warrant a problem notice since it is at a chrysler dealership?

 

I'm no mechanic but i think someone put sugar in your tank
just kidding, maybe you got some bad fuel sometime and when you fill it it mixes the tank up enough to get that sludge sitting at the bottom of the tank up into the fuel pump? or maybe you just need a new fuel filter, although i dont see why it would only happen when you fill up then.
I'm 0 for 1 with helping people on this forum so far so hopefully my luck changes, but like i said, I'm no mechanic and this is just a guess

Same problem here on my 2005 T&C. It just recently started happening and only does right after fueling up. I blamed it on the 10% ethanol mix our state uses but maybe not. It runs fine shortly after.

My 03 has done it for years. I bought this vehicle from my father (now 80) who complained to anyone who would listen yet no one would take the time to do a deep dive into this issue. It totally pisses me off!!!! Especially when I see so many other people with the same problem. Someone at Chrysler knows the answer!! I encourage everyone to raise hell about this problem!!! It is absolutely unacceptable and all repairs to correct it should be honored!!!!!!!!!
