Default 14 town and country transmission fluid capacity

I had a cooler line blow while driving and lost all my fluid. I fixed the line and I have put 11 quarts of fluid in so far and its not even hitting the dip stick yet is this correct or am I missing something. Does any one know who much it will hold

What are you using to measure the fluid level and how are you measuring it? The service fill for the 62TE, trans pan drop and refill, is around 5.5 qts. The total capacity of the 62TE is 9 qts.

You must have the engine running to measure the transmission fluid.

The van is running in neutral, level and I am using i dip stick to measure by mm and temp per factory guild lines. I have no leaks and don't now cause I blew the line at 70 miles per hour if that pushed out more fluid than it should have.

Is the size of the cooler and lines playing a factor?

I took it on a short test dive last night to make sure I had the transmission oil hot enough and then checked it. It acted like it was short shifting like it was still low on fluid I am going to keep adding 1/2quart at a time and make sure I don't overfill tell I get the reading I should have. I'll keep everyone up to date on how much it takes

But you still need to have the engine running.
