Hi

Just finished removal / installation of the BCM. Had the complete circuit breaker panel off, removed the BCM from it's back side, opened up the cover, cleaned the complete circuit board that was partially powdery covered , with contact cleaner, reassembled the whole thing and presently, all gauges work again. Will see for how long. P/N of the BCM is 4686674 . Will find out soon if I need a replacement. I will for sure take the NAVI along in case the gauges give up, so that I have a speed indication .

Once more, thanks for all help . Didn't realize that BOSCH has so many PCs made for this one solely car.

Hi

Didn't work for long. Started after a very little while to erratically move the RPM pointer and lost all indication again soon after, including again the overhead indication + ABS light on.
I bought a used BCM from a scrapyard , installed it and all works perfect.
Hope it stays like that now.
The car has 30.000 km more on the clock now. Had 292.000 km, now shows 320.000 km with the other BCM.

Thanks for all assistance on this and brgds

Hi

Hopefully last update for this issue. I drove on vacation and back and the indications still work perfect. Hence the BCM was at fault this time. If the roof km indications also blank out together with the speed/RPM combi-indications, it isn't the indicator's soldering thats broken as this only blanks the combi-indication.

Check for corroded/breaking wires going into the bottom of the fuse panel under the engine hood. Can not give you specific wires to look at, but any corrosion/breaking wire will give you problems.

There is a thread about bad solder on the back of the cluster , it's the voltage regulator and this course a block in all communication it could all so be a bad ground in you hvac panel course this ground is used to rear windshild heat and seat heat and mirror heat . offen you can see the connector is melted.

Think actualy I wrote this thread
