Default 1999 T&C randomly dinging

My 99 T&C Lxi that just turned over 90k miles has been having this issue with it dinging randomly. The dinging sound is the same sound that dings when you have the key in the ignition and your door open. The van will start dinging for several minutes either right after you turn the van on or during a drive. It seems to be random. I bought the van used in 2002 and it used to happen once a year. Then it started doing it twice a year... Last year it started doing it for weeks at a time. Disconnecting the battery helped and seemed to stop it from doing for a couple months. Now disconnecting the battery seems to have little effect on it. As I said, it usually happens right after I start the van and put it in gear but also happens just randomly out of no wear on a highway. For example I drove a 60 mile stretch last week and it did it twice during the tip randomly just cruising along. I have looked online but only found one other post with a similar issue but it had no response. Any ideas?

Try taking the cowling off around the steering wheel - if memory serves me right they should be 3 Philips screws underneath the cowling - the top and bottom half then seperate - remove them. Then they should be three sets of connectors going into the ignition barell. One set has two small wires which may be loose - check them. If not you could always just disconnect this plug and see if it stops.
Hope this helps

I just took the cover off and saw three sets of connectors. They all looked tight but jiggled them anyway. The van seems to have gotten over the dinging for this round and hasn't done it for a couple of days so it may be hard to test and see if it helped. Seeing how it happens randomly for days or weeks at a time I am thinking it is a computer related issue. Especially when disconnecting the battery did help a couple of times in the past.
