Default 2.8 starter motor

Has anyone taken the starter motor off their 2.8CRD voyager ?

If so, does it clear the diesel filter assembly ?

I've taken one off my old 2.5 CRD and there was plenty of room, but on the 2.8 I removed the two lower bolts, I can't seem to get to the upper bolt (the one with the earth connection)

And also it's not obvious if there's sufficient clearance to pull the motor clear past the fuel filter housing.

Thx

fairly sure you can angle the starter motor out without removing the fuel filter, but that top bolt is a bugger to get to. If I remember correctly I used spanners on two of them and a socket and universal joint on the 3rd - they were also bloody tight!

yeah the two lower ones need a 15mm ring spanner, no clearance for a socket. I removed them & cleaned up the threads.

The third on I had trouble getting to, so put it back together for another day (warmer day)
