From Gogg's pictures, it looks like the designers have gone for the very soft option with air spaces. Not surprized they don't last long with a diesel of 2.5ltr. and 4-cyl.
Having said that, hope mine don't collapse...

Just wondering about stuffing a bit of rubber in the gap so engine doesn't have so much rebound leading to another eventual ripped mount.
Idea's on rubber to use appreciated.

In the past I've just used the complete assembly

Thought about trying to pour in some two pack urathene liquid that sets to try and stiffen it up at bit

My 2.5CRD also started to "shake" at idling. Engine runs perfectly well so probably the front mount gone too.
Front mount failure seems to be a common issue with the Chrysler CRD engines
Ordered a new one on Ebay € 90,-

If it's anything like the old Austin 7 / Morris Mini Minor engine stabiliser bar, if it's not replaced quickly it can cause damage to gear linkages and other mechanical components.

My mount has been gone for some time now and engine by looking at mount is lying over to the front. However there is no undue reaction to engine regarding it.
I can only take it that there must be wear/damage to the other mounts as in QinteQ's ones on left and right side of engine. But saying that the cause of the engine rocking for and aft must be attributed to an engine steady at back of engine being either missing or knackered. So is there a steady at the back, should there be a steady at the back of the engine as I can't see one on mine.
I've got a new one but no chance of putting it on as it won't last long.

Default 2004 2.5CRD Engine mounts.

Here's what I've got for a 2004 2.5CRD with manual trans. I would think my 2003 engine would be much the same.
So there's a right side/cambelt side mount. Left side end of gearbox mount and a rear engine mount. Need to check on the last two here.
Also notice front mount which is called an Isolator.

spoke to a Chrysler mechanic today and he confirmed to me that in 90% of the cases the front mount is bad and to be replaced (at least) every 100-150K km on 2.5 and 2.8 CRD engines.
Other mounts should be fine a lot longer.

100-150km not sure what that is in miles but more like 10k km I would say.
But obviously there is a problem in one of the mounts as in mine.
