Default 2001 T&C 3.8 knock sensor question.

So, I've got a 2001 T&C with the 3.8Ltr. I bought it with a thrown rod, so, I found a block from a 2004 T&C with 3.8. Got it all installed, and went to start it, and it'll turn over, I smell fuel, but there is no power to the coil pack. The only difference I noticed was different knock sensors on the back of the engine.. could this be the issue? I've swapped out bothe the CPS and Crank position sensors with no improvment. Thanks for any advice!!

yeah your 01 van is an SBEC computer and the 04 is an NGC setup so it will never start up.

well, the only thing I used was the block and heads. the intake manifold, egr, and all sensors are from origional engine.

What about the timing chain and gears and the flex plate, are they from the original (2001) engine? They are different between the SBEC and NGC systems. You may also need the timing chain cover from the original engine

There is some good information about the differences between various years here: Rebuilding the Chrysler 3.3L / 3.8L Engine
