Exclamation 2001 town & country ac - simple

The mechanic has disconnected something allowing the ac to work only in the rear vents, the front and middle vents no longer work. What could he have disconnected? It's hot!

The rear vents blow cold air, the vents in the middle and front do not blow air at all.

When we took it to the mechanic all the vents were working, but on high only. Before picking it up, the mechanic tried to convince us to let him fix that, we told him we would return when we had the money, I believe he has disconnected something to ensure we return since it is so hot out and the air is needed.
