It seems the AWD has not attracted a lot of fans anywhere. What I have discovered is that those who do understand them go to great lengths to make sure their tires match exactly. Apparently mismatched tires account for the majority of AWD failures. Can anyone point me to a technical drawing of the inside of the power transfer unit? Darned if I can find one anywhere
Thanks

Not many of these AWD cars around I'm afraid so fans will be limited. As too having identical sized tyres, on back I would say, surely the diff would take that up.

According to a drawing of the power transfer unit the the prop shaft is driven through a pinion and crown wheel that has probably lost a few teeth so I may be able to remove the pinion thus get rid of the clashing of gears.

I removed the pinion and reassembled the PTU and it works just like a normal FWD
