2005 '55 2.8 Timing Belt Change..
#12
I'd like to see them do it in 4hrs...
I have all the tools including the timing pins that I made myself (worked perfectly) and I wasn't hanging around, I knew exactly what to remove and in what sequence...
The first time I fitted new pulleys even tho the originals were fine.. this time I didn't change the pulleys, but did fit a new tensioner for the timing belt.
I think the belt (Conti-tech) was around £40, tensioner £35 and water pump was £42.... so not too bad

All's well that ends well...
Well after all that helpful advice, none of it was necessary.....
I had pro actively bo8ght a full timing belt kit including water pump for £250 to give to the dealer to fit for me, only to find when I got there that they had got all of the documented service history together and discovered an invoice for a new cam belt and alternator belt installation in June 2013.... Only 4K miles ago..
Result
Luckily the Ebay store that sold me the kit and water pump had no problem in accepting returns.
The dealer even had a brand new drop down DVD player installed as the original one was not working
The car is driving like a dream and I have one very happy family
