Default 2005 T&C A/C and rear defrost issue

Hi, I am new to the site. I have been reading thru some posts, and have been unable to diagnose a problem I have been having. My a/c stopped blowing cold air last year. We took it to the mechanic, and he charged it, and said we should be good to go. It didn't do the trick, we are still getting warm air from the vents. The rear defrost only works when it feels like it, and it seems both problems originated within consecutive seasons. Any ideas ?? Thanks

The problem I am having is my A/C blows warm air. It was supposedly re-charged by a mechanic, but it had no effect. He did not inform me of anything other than he added refrigerant. The rear defrost only works sometimes...seems to be no rhyme or reason. I will do the work if it is not too elaborate, or it won't get fixed..it obviously didn't do any good to take it to the mechanic. Thanks

here is what I am getting at freon does not just disappear its a gas and will escape out if there is a leak if there is not a leak it wont go anywhere. SO what has to be known if the freon level was low to start with and if so that's what u need to be looking for is a leak.

How do I go about detecting a gas leak in the system ?? or should I take it to a different mechanic. These days, mechanics are like politicians.
