My 2008 T & C with 28K miles (YES that's not a typo) Just starting making this high pitched whistle or whine, coming from the right side of the engine where the belt is. Turning the steering makes no difference.
With the engine at idle the noise starts at a lower pitch and increases pitch as engine speed increases. Thanks for your help !

 

Petrol or Diesel...I'm going for Alternator, caused by dry bearings.

Would you believe then trying to setup a repair appointment with my local dealer (where I purchased my van) the first available appointment is 16 days out!!!!!!!!!!

 

Stopped by for gas at my corner neighborhood gas station. The attendant heard by whistling sounds and commented, "sounds like you need a new alternator". I went to talk to the owner to
schedule the appointment for later that day. After a delay of a couple of hours to locate the alternator, dove home with my van a purrrrin' Mahalo Allan !
