Default 2009 T&C Alarm Issue

Hello,
We just bought a 2009 Chrysler T&C Touring with about 111k miles, very clean inside and out. When we press either of our 2 remotes 2 or 3 times to lock and turn the alarm on, the alarm decides to chirp 10 times and then repeat, sometimes chirping at intervals of 9 or 11 times. This happens after several minutes of silence, making me thing everything is ok.. The red LED on the dash blinks on/off every second or so, indicating the alarm is activated. We can't seem to lock the vehicle without the alarm eventually chirping or going of altogether (with horn). Very frustrating. I read that the remote batteries might need changing (both have the batteries they came with), although all of the buttons work well - don't see how this could be related, but would be the easiest solution. Do I need to disconnect the neg battery terminal to force a relearning of the remotes?

Also, when the radio is on, it frequently "locks up" where it takes several seconds to turn itself off and then back on. When playing radio stations (no buttons pressed), it also turns off and then back on. If the time is selected to be displayed when the radios is off though the setting menu, the Chrysler logo displayed on the screen blanks out and comes back on as if the radio is turning itself off and back on, but it is really off. Bad radio, Gremlins, reset option? Any thought would be appreciated.
