2009 Town and Country AC leaking gas
I have an opportunity to get a great deal on 2009 T&C with 115000 miles on it. Its in an overall good condition and was maintained well but the caveat is that it was diagnosed with a leaking AC.
The mechanic quoted around $1500 mostly for taking off the dashboard and checking the evaporator coil for leak. I am eager to do the work myself but I am new to town and country and would like to ask if there are some common failures around AC in that model that would make it easier to pinpoint.
Right now AC blows cold for a couple of days but then progressively losses cold air and pressure in the system. Dye test did not show anything in the engine bay so the mechanic thinks its an interior issue.
Any tips greatly appreciated.

If your van has rear AC have them check the rear evaporator, it is common failure point on these van. Should be much cheaper than tearing the dash apart.
