Our 2010 Voyager keeps busting front window regulators. I have replaced both driver and passenger sides three times now. Both have had the original and both have now had two after market units die. Each time it is the same issue.
One of the glass plastic retainers snaps at the upper cable and the window drops. I have tried resetting the auto up but it is as if the window tries to go too high and adds extra stress onto the retainers.
The original passenger side lasted 10 years, the two replacements lasted a year or so each. The drivers side original lasted 11 years and the first replacement lasted a year and the second only 4 months.
Understand aftermarket parts are never as good as OEM but they should last a great deal longer than a year or so. I don’t believe OEM parts are still available but could be wrong.
Has anyone else had this issue and what was the fix? Is there a way to limit the height the window tries to achieve? I was thinking of slipping a piece of card or folded paper into the seal, to act as a stop, when I reset the height so once the stop is removed the window closes just shy of all the way up. Think that would remove the force applied to the bracket?
