Default Anyone cover their "heated" steering wheel?

The heated steering wheel option with the simulated wood top section gets pretty hot just on its own from the ambient sunlight. Sometimes its uncomfortably hot too so I was thinking of getting a leather cover for the summer months and taking it off in the winter months. Has anyone tried this or even experience the same hot sensation from their un-heated heated steering wheel?

I get the same "ouch ouch" sensation in the hot sun with an all plastic non heated steering wheel
I Just grab the steering wheel at the lower (shadow) end and point the airco air flow to the wheel.

I was just hoping to find a shorty cover which goes around the top plastic section so its not so annoying. Because yeah, I find myself only grabbing the lower region of the wheel where its leather.
