Thanks for your reply, I shall check the connectionsand earthing as that seems to be mentioned a lot.
The gearbox is gone bad too, most of the time wont switch upwards of 2 but then it works fine sometimes. Im stumped, really really hope its dodgy connections.

What you can do and what you must pay others to do for you. You can do the basics of 'wiggle tests', green verde contacts, and high ohms of resistance.

IPM [TIPM] or earths' [ground circuits] are both good bets for a solution. It would be nice if we knew what year it was. A ground circuit is a very bad tempered mistress it will always fight to make its way back home - to the negative battery terminal, if its path is blocked that component with create havoc, even the negative battery cable itself can be a good supect fro replacement. Likewise 3 computers run the car, each is routed through the IPM, the contacts if corroded in the multi layer IPM [signal - voltage - grounds] will also create the kind of multiple havoc you have described in #1.

My money is on the battery grounding circuit -- all of it. Be sure the battery post connectors are bright-metal clean too.

1652 is a communications bus error.

Somewhere there is a fault on the bus wiring or there is a module that is affecting the bus. Bus wiring drawings can be found here
