Default Best battery

Looking a bit of advice. Bought a battery for my 2.5 grand voyager from a battery stockist. Was a 650 amp battery measuring 25.5cm length, 18.5cm height and 16.5cm depth. Put the battery in the car and left it for 3 days and it has gone dead already(didn't drive the car). Phoned Chrysler and they said I need a 800amp battery at the cost of £250!!! Does it sound like I need the bigger battery or some sort of electrical problem that is causing the battery to drain so fast.

Thanks

- have a read of these one - two - three
- you will see if you read the above that I've recently had this problem
- and how I solved mine, the 5 year warranty I invalidated within minutes mangling it to fit, however it did work

If, having put your new battery on you failed to give it a good long charge, or good long drive before parking it for three days, I would not be surprised it has failed already. Chrysler's 800Ah figure I would suggest would be a minimum for the UK winter on a 2.8CRD on a 2.5 I've no idea but my short experience of the GV's with a full suite of toys in use suggests I would put in as close to 100 over 100 as I could fit. In reality that would be 90Ah + with 830 on the cranking power.

Read the stuff I gave you then come back and ask your questions, I'm only a learner at this stuff, other more knowledgeable people will come along later and advise you.
