cd changer kaput
I got my van (2005 T&C)back from having it serviced at the dealer a couple days ago and found the CD changer no longer works. They'd changed the batteryso my clock was reading the wrong time andthe radio presets were off so I didn't worry much about the flashing buttons on the changer when I picked it up, figured I'd straighten it all out when I had time. Now I find it just whirs and clicks when I start the car then goes back to flashing. Whirs and clicks if I try to eject any CDs too and says 'disc error' on the screen, CDs fail to eject.
So I try checking the manual to see if there's anything to reset, no such luck. Took it back to the service department, they say there's no security code for it but they'll see what they can do. Some hours later, they tell me it needs to be replaced, they'll give me a discount- only $1100+ instead of $1300. It's "ironic" that it came back from them broken, I'm told; they had nothing to do with it, I'm told.
So does anyone know if there's a way to fix this problem with the changer? I don't much like the idea of buying a new one, especially since it worked fine until they got their hands on my van.
