Hello. I would like to buy Chrysler Grand Voyager 2003, 7 seats, automatic gearbox, petrol engine, climate control, cruise control, electric windows, seat heating. Which engine should i prefer: 2,4 108 kw or 3,3 V6 128 kw, which one is better and why? Is Chrysler GV good car or not? Do i have to repair it a lot? TUV report gives Voyager last place, why is it so?

 

I own a diesel Voyager, but I believe both the 3.3 and 2.4 are good engines. I'd go for the 3.3 as you don't gain much economy with the 2.4.

I assume you are in Europe somewhere. If so then there is no people carrier as big as the Grand Voyager. So if you really need a people carrier that size then there is no other choice (except maybe the rare SsangYong Rodius).

If you can live with a smaller people carrier, then the Mazda MPV would probably be the most reliable one around, but its quite small. You could buy a Toyota Previa, which is bigger than the Mazda and very reliable, but they hold their value like crazy (at least in the UK) and as such you will probably pay 3 times that of a similar aged Grand Voyager.

If you shop around, it should be possible to find a 2003 petrol Grand voyager with pretty low mileage. That is your best bet to avoid expensive problems. Most cars on this forum that encounter major expensive faults have well over 100,000 miles.
