Default chrysler gv 2.5 crd rear crankshaft oil seal time has come

Hi all its a sad sad day for our chrysler gv, we have had the dreaded rear crankshaft oilseal leak for 3 years now only very slight about half a litre every 12 months so we have lived with it but yesterday after a 160 mile trip parked car in middle of drive to unload left it running whilst unloading and moved it 5 mins later and it has lost around 10th of litre, stuck head under this morning while car running and you get a drip every 40 seconds or so.
so my real question here is has anyone had this done on there voyager and rough idea of cost, i would tackle it myself but dont fancy doing it on the drive not the best way to tackle this one feels.

info about the car;
2003 (03) chrysler grand voyager 2.5 crd we have owned from new not a mega miler 116786 only used for transporting kids to school and days out etc and the odd take the seats out and fill up with rubbish for tip etc.
we would say that this has been one of the best cars cost wise to run and maintain.

Its a case of you might as well get the clutch done at same time. Coming up with rear seal part numbers of VM 46340870F...Chrysler/Mopar 5066 756AA. Can be done DIY see You Tube and I'd use extended gearbox to crankcase bolts so it pulls out straight with no drop. If your not mechanical forget it. Get quotes for job.

Thanks for the reply we had the clutch done at 80,000 due to diesel contamination due to lose nut on diesel injector pipe leaked down in between block and bell housing soaking clutch was fine in normal driving but clutch slip on hard acceleration, now waiting on some quotes to come in I will update again when got quotes

We had ours done twice, first time at 100,000miles 2nd time at 175,000 miles had the clutch replaced both times, first time it was slipping a bit, 2nd time just did it as a matter of course, because you have to take off the clutch & flywheel to do the seal.

The seal is a two part kit... DO NOT JUST BUY THE SINGLE PART O RING !!! get the proper kit, it's about £55 for the set.

Easy job for a mechanic, use the flywheel bolts to extract the O rings and seals.
